Today Cusco city is well known for its archeological attractions, among all of them Machu Picchu, the most outstanding Inca city, raised upon the mountains in the Vilcanota Valley.

Day 1 Welcome to Cusco
Our kuntur Peru transfer will pick you up at Velasco Astete airport in Cusco, he will drive you to your hotel, which is located in the historical center of the city, we understand how intense was the trip and is complicated for you being by the first time in the highland at 3.400m/ 10.800ft, so today it will be the resting and acclimating day in the program. At the hotel, you will taste the Andean hot drink (The Coca tea), an infusion of green leaves, which will help you to acclimate quickly to the altitude. Later in the afternoon if you are feeling better or have the chance, you can go and explore the downtown walking around in the main plaza, taking your first pictures. You will find restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Later on, our Kuntur Peru representative will be in contact with you to let you know about the plans and everything before you start you adventure in Cusco.
Day 2 City Tour
Today we will start the tour in the afternoon, as it is usual visiting first the cathedral. The main temple in Cusco built by Incan people by the middle of the XVII century. The Cathedral is important for its large collection of paintings from Cusquenian artist, after a guided tour, we will take you to an amazing Inca temple (The Qoricancha) where still remains the perfect construction of Inca period still standing after two big earthquakes, from Cusco city, we will drive to the upper part of Cusco, toward Sacsayhuaman, where you will appreciate an extraordinary site, compound by walls made of enormous stones up to 80 tons weight, and several foundations of buildings from those that once were important Incan residences, five minutes driving from here is Qenqo, a ceremonial site where took place mummification in caverns sculpted underground, finally, from Qenqo we will drive to visit Pukapucara and the last one Tambomachay, the water shrine. After exploring all sites, we will drive you back to Cusco downtown and drop you off at your hotel.
Day 3 Sacred Valley
In the third day of our program, we leave at 7:30 am, we will drive first to the llama farm where you will be able to appreciate camelids such us Llamas, Alpacas, Vicunas, and Guanacos. Afterward, we continue driving to Pisaq, the first Inca site located upon one of the Mountains in the valley, this will take us 30 minutes from the town has the same mane as the site. Pisaq is an archeological complex made up of large terraces for agriculture and Incan residences, After the guided tour we will drive for lunch to Urubamba town, there we will enjoy the buffet service of typical food, we will have a well-deserved lunch in the valley, after that we continue to Ollantaytambo, where we will visit the formidable site surrounded by Mountains, you will a guided tour exploring around sectors at the ruins. From Ollantaytambo, we will drive to the last site called Chincero, an Inca site and a small town, where families still keep the old traditions to make textiles, we will have the chance to visit one of those families. Afterward, we will drive toward Cusco, arriving around 6:30 pm, we will drop you off at the hotel.
Day 4 Maras – Moray Salineras
Today is an exciting day, we will leave Cusco at 8:30 am, driving toward the Maras town, we will still explore part of the sacred valley, its amazing views of the Mountains, farmlands, villages.
After 1.5 hours driving, we will arrive at the fascinating display of circular terraces in Moray. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth in a bowl shape, were built to be used to improve the optimal conditions of seed for all crops in the region.
When we are done exploring Moray, you will head to the Salineras of Maras, the salt ponds, which is about 2 miles away. Maras was the village known as a former salt production center, that is thought to date back all the way to pre-Inca times. There are over 3000 salt small ponds all carved on the mountainside, being filled daily by a little stream of salty water. If you want to see something really different from ruins, this is your tour! The area is amazing and spectacularly beautiful.
Afterward, we will drive to Ollantaytambo where we will spend the night in the hotel near the train station.
Day 5 Short Inka Trail 1st Day, trekking to Machu Picchu
We pick you up from your hotel at 07:00 am and take you to the train station to board the train, which will take us to km.104 km, the starting point of the trek to Machu Picchu.
The train journey itself is already an Amazing experience, driving through the Vilcanota Valley, impressive views of the Mountains, Inca sites, and more. At about 09:00 am, we will arrive the starting point of the trail The Km 104 at (2.150m / 7.053ft). Here at the control point, we will have time to organize our backpack before we start trekking. We begin the journey visiting Chachabamba archaeological site, after a brief information at the ruins, we will embark upon an 8 km ascending trail of three and a half hours, which will take us to the archaeological complex of Wiñaywayna (2.700m/ 8.858ft), this is another impressive complex made up of long terraces, urban residences, water fountains, and religious enclosures, we will have time for a guided tour and explore the site, afterward, we will go ahead to get our lunch at the campsite near the archeological site. In the afternoon, we go on for 2.5 more hours toward Machu Picchu, passing through Intipunku (the sun gate). From here we will see the Inca city, after some pictures and small break, we will descend gradually to take the bus, without after of taking some pictures at the postcard spot on the Inca city. Finally, we will take the bus which will take us to Aguas Calientes town. Tonight, we will stay in 3 stars hotel.
Day 6 short Inka trail 2nd Day Exploring Machu Picchu City
Early in the morning after breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel, you and your guide will take the bus up to Machu Picchu. Make sure you are taking your passport to show at the gate, the one you have booked for this trip, once in the citadel, your guide will give you a background information about Machupicchu, then he will show you the most important sectors in the citadel, after two and a half of hours guided tour you will have plenty of time for further exploring.
Note: If you purchased the admission tickets to climbing Wayna Picchu Mountain, your guide will give you some instructions about where and what time you should be at the entrance, it could take 1.5 to 2 hours back and forth.
The guide will meet you at Aguas Calientes town for lunch, afterward, at 2:55 pm we take our return train towards Ollantaytambo, from where our private transportation will drive you back to Cusco, we will drop you off at your hotel.
Day 7 Cusco Relaxing Day or optinal activities
Today you are going to have an entire day for yourself to explore the city and take a relaxing day in Cusco.
It is convenient for you to take a breath while you are expecting to bring home something from the Andes, especially to your relatives at home, this is time to be in contact with them letting know that you are having a wonderful time exploring the Andes in Cusco. However, if you want to have an additional activity, we offer small activities such us horseback riding, south valley tour, a cooking class where you would learn how to make some Peruvian dishes.
Day 8 Flight Back to Lima
We will take you to the airport at the time your flight will be, we have to keep in mind that we must be 2 hours before the departure time to make sure everything is right.

Note: Please note that the estimated time to start your guided tour of the Machu Picchu Citadel is between (6:30 am – 7 am), it could last from 2 or 2.5 hours.However, this might be delayed due to the pace of the group and weather issues. Therefore, there is a risk of having to leave your guided tour half way to be able to make it on time for your climb to either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Keep in mind that the trek up to the mountain is not suggested for people with problems with vertigo or who are afraid of heights.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the discounts ONLY apply for the 2D Inca Trail service.
Due to the strict regulations established by Machu Picchu Park, once you have made your booking, the space and permit that has been purchased cannot be cancelled. It is also impossible to transfer the permit to someone else under a different name, and the date of your permit can not be modified either. Therefore, if you are not able to arrive on the scheduled date, No refunds can be done.
Permits are not refundable, Kuntur Peru tour agency will purchase the permits as soon as the confirmation of the booking is sent to you.
♦ If you cancel the booking between 30 to 10 days before the start of your trip; you will be required to pay 50% of the total cost.
♦ If you cancel the booking between 10 to 3 days before the start of your trip; you will be required to pay 80% of the total cost.
♦ If you cancel the booking between 1 to 2 days before the start of your trip; you will be required to pay 100% of the total cost.
In the event that you decide to withdraw from the trek once it has started, you will be responsible for all additional charges such as food, extra accommodation, and transport that might occur because of the modification of your itinerary. However, you can join the group again for the visit to Machu Picchu citadel and the use of the same services onwards.
In the event that you decide to cancel the trip due to a health issue or personal problem; the above cancellation policies will be applied as the company had already incurred in administrative and logistic expenses for your trek.
NOTES - TERMS & CONDITIONS
Due to its regulation and In order to protect the Historical sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Each day is allowed to 500 people on the Classic Inca Trail, those including porters, guides, and other support staff.
It is expected trekkers to carry their own personal gear, however, they should make an honest assessment of their physical condition. If a personal porter is desired, it is important to request one at the time of booking, as they are included in the 500 people per day limit.
To secure a permit and entrance ticket to classic Inca trail, Wayna Picchu Mt, and Machu Picchu, consider Peruvian government regulations require full name and current passport information of all trekkers, permits are non-transferable, it can’t be sold to others and can be sold out quickly months in advance. It is, therefore, important to arrange the reservation dates at the earliest opportunity.
Wayna Picchu Mountain is an excellent addition for a trip to Machu Picchu. It offers great views but is a steep climb that can take about two and a half hours back and forth.
The admission tickets to Wayna Picchu Mountain are limited and only at scheduled times. If you are considering doing the climb, make sure to book it in advance. The classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu can be a challenging hike, there are lots of stone steps and steep uphills that could make you feel tired at the end.
If you wish to trek to Machu Picchu, but you don’t have the time, either enough energy to do the whole 4-days trek, you must consider our alternate options or the short version “Inca trail 2d / 1n». These can be booked any time in the year, with no advance reservation.
